Understanding Potential in Organizations
How does your organization define “potential”? Potential for what, exactly? And once these individuals are identified, how are they supported, guided, or coached?
At Personality Guidance, we collaborate with the Corporate Research Forum (CRF) to explore the concept of potential, grounding our understanding in evidence-based science.
The first question organizations must consider is: What does “potential” mean? Is it tied to hierarchical progression, such as promotion into leadership roles, or is it about possibility — the capacity to achieve more with the right development and support?
The second question is: Potential for what? Every organization may define this differently depending on its strategic goals, values, and culture. Understanding this is essential for aligning talent development with organizational objectives.
Once potential is clearly defined, we help organizations design structured development journeys. This begins with our Potential Analysis, which uses evidence-based personality assessments to identify individuals suited for specific roles, from leadership positions like Chief Financial Officer or Chief Operating Officer to other critical functions.
Beyond identification, we support individuals through personalized coaching and development guidance, ensuring that growth is practical, focused, and aligned with both the individual’s strengths and the organization’s needs. Our approach is guided by the values of being impactful, persistent, empathetic, and collaborative.
