The intersection of data and dialogue: reflections on our Sip & Hogan Practice event in Zurich

There is a unique synergy that occurs when professional expertise meets a relaxed atmosphere. Our second edition of the Sip & Hogan Practice in Zurich provided a compelling testament to this, proving that complex psychometric analysis is often best navigated through collaborative discussion over good food and drink. This session brought together a diverse cohort of HR Business Partners, executive coaches, and HR managers.

Decoding a team DNA

Using the Hogan team profile as our roadmap, the group engaged in a deep dive into the collective personality of a leadership unit. Rather than viewing data in isolation, we explored the « narrative » behind the numbers, specifically addressing some questions around:

  • How do we objectively assess whether a team is truly agile and entrepreneurial, or simply reactive?

  • Which specific Hogan scales must be prioritized to identify a team’s networking potential and external influence?

  • What recurring behavioral patterns emerge when specific HPI (Hogan Personality Inventory) and HDS (Hogan Development Survey) scales collide at a group level?

The resulting conversations were a masterclass in peer-to-peer learning. It was fascinating to observe how different practitioners « triangulate » data to identify the hidden risks and untapped strengths within a team.

A collaborative future

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed their perspectives and challenged the status quo during our case study work. Special thanks to memox for providing an exceptional venue and catering; the environment played no small part in fostering such open and engaging dialogue.

As we look toward the latter half of the year, we are excited to continue building this community of practice. For those looking to sharpen their Hogan interpretation skills in a collaborative, expert-led setting, we invite you to join us for our next edition.
